Fonética

La fonética estudia los sonidos del lenguaje en su realización concreta. Independientemente de su función lingüística.

La fonética estudia la forma fisiológica y física del sonido lingüístico.









La fonética fisiológica o articulatoria estudia los movimientos de los órganos fonadores, respiratorios y articulatorios utilizados en la emisión del mensaje  (pulmones, cuerdas vocales, la mandíbula, la lengua, los labios, los dientes, los alveolos, el paladar, el velo del paladar, la cavidad nasal y la cavidad faríngea).









La fonética física o acústica estudia la transmisión del mensaje a través de las vibraciones del aire y la manera en que afecta al oído del receptor (tono, timbre, intensidad, etc.).









Fonología Ciencia que estudia la función de los sonidos en el sistema de la comunicación lingüística.

Para representar los diferentes sonido de una lengua se ha creado un Alfabeto Fonético Internacional cuyo objetivo es explicar la forma fisiológica de cada sonido.

A cada sonido se le da el nombre de fonema.









Fonema. Es una unidad distintiva, carente de significado. Es una unidad mínima en que puede dividirse una secuencia fónica.

Los fonemas se dividen en vocálicos y consonánticos. Si la cavidad bucal está libre de obstáculos se producen sonidos vocálicos, y si existe alguna obstrucción con los órganos articulatorios se producen sonidos consonánticos.

Los fonemas se escriben entre dos líneas diagonales o entre corchetes



Ejemplo:  /æ/, /ɑ:/, /əʊ/, /aɪ/, /p/,/ʧ/, etc.

Vowel: a vowel is a speech sound produced with vibrating the vocal cords and with any obstruction to the flow of air as it passes from the larynx to the lip. Vowels are always voiced










The different vowels are created by







Front vowels.  These vowels are articulated with the tongue tip lies behind the lower teeth:

/i:/, /ɪ/, /e/, /æ/.










Central vowels. They´re articulated with the front part of the tongue:   

/ɜ:/, /ə/, /ʌ/, /ɒ/, /ɑ:/.










Back vowels. These vowels are articulated with the back of the tongue raised towards the juncture of the hard and soft palates: 

/u:/, /ʊ/, /ɔ:/.

Las vocales del Ingles tienen varias formas de pronunciarse. a continuación se dan algunas claves de pronunciación.

Vocal   a

La "a" se pronuncia /æ/ cuando va seguida de una o más consonantes.
ejemplo: map /mæp/, cat /kæt/ , black /blæk/, angry /ˈæŋgrɪ/.

ejemplo: luck, gum, but, brush, cut, sun, much, must, brunch.
